5 tips for trips when you are in Marina Frapa Dubrovnik

1. THE ELAFITI ISLANDS

The Elaphiti Islands are a group of 13 islands northwest of Dubrovnik, known for their untouched nature and clear sea. The three main islands are Koločep, Lopud and Šipan. They were part of the Republic of Dubrovnik from the 11th century until its fall and still preserve their historical heritage and unique architecture.

2. MLJET ISLAND

Mljet is an island rich in archaeological and cultural heritage. The National Park is located on the western part of the island, with its main entrance in the village of Polače, where visitors can see the remains of a Roman palace dating back to the 5th century. In Polače and Pomena, visitors can enjoy excellent restaurants offering fresh fish, local fruits and vegetables, providing an authentic gastronomic experience.

3. STON

Ston is situated on Pelješac peninsula. It’s just an hour drive west from Dubrovnik.
It has 5 km wall that has been built in 14th centruy. It is second greatest wall in the world after Great wall of China.Ston is famous for its amazing salt that has been produce for the past 2000 years.

4. KORČULA

Korčula is a stunning island known for its historic Old Town and beautiful beaches. A key landmark is the house of Marco Polo, the famous explorer born here in 1254.

Beyond its history, Korčula is also known for its unique "Half New Year" celebration, held every June 30th since 2001, attracting many visitors.

5. LOKRUM

Lokrum is, according to legend, a cursed island, yet also a green paradise near Dubrovnik’s Old Town. Under UNESCO protection, it is known for its botanical garden and exotic wildlife.
Fans of Game of Thrones can visit the Visitor Center, where they will find the Iron Throne. Sitting on it and taking photos is allowed, making it a must-see attraction.
